At Spar'Car you can rent from the age of 18, with a licence held for at least one year. Standard conditions are 23 years old and 3 years of licence; below that, a young driver surcharge applies, with simple rules shown before you book.
The young driver surcharge
- €8 per day from 21 to 22, or with less than 3 years of licence;
- €12 per day from 18 to 20;
- charged for a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 10 per rental: beyond 10 days, it doesn't go up;
- due for each driver concerned, additional driver included.
A few examples: aged 22 for 7 days, 7 × €8 = €56; aged 19 for 14 days, the surcharge stops at 10 days, i.e. €120; aged 21 for 2 days, the 3-day minimum applies, i.e. €24.
What changes below standard conditions
- Excess — the full excess waiver (Tout Compris pack) is reserved for standard conditions; the Petite Carrosserie pack, which reduces the excess, remains available;
- Mercedes GLA and GLC — 25 years old;
- Licence held for less than a year — rental not possible;
- Deposit — required as for all our customers: see deposit and excess.
Details are in article 4.1 of our terms and conditions.
