How much does it cost to rent a car in Martinique? Three things set the price: the category, the season and the duration. The table below shows, for each category, the daily price from which you can rent — or hire — a car from Spar’Car for a week, collected at the airport, season by season. It is not copied from a brochure: it is read from our own booking engine, at the same prices you will pay, with no middleman.

Price per day, taxes included, for a 7-day rental with hand-over and return at Aimé Césaire Airport, read on 3 October 2026 from our booking engine. The exact price depends on your dates and duration (lower rates from 4, 7, 15 and 29 days) and is shown before any payment. Unlimited mileage included; options, security deposit and late-arrival fees extra.
How to read this table
Each cell is a daily price, taxes included, “from”, calculated for a 7-day rental collected and returned at Aimé Césaire Airport on a few sample dates within the season. Your exact price depends on your precise dates and duration: it is shown in the booking engine before any payment, and that is the price that counts. The table is refreshed several times a day; a season with no published prices yet is left blank.
What the price includes
- unlimited mileage, across the whole island;
- the compulsory third-party liability insurance;
- free hand-over and return at Aimé Césaire Airport during the day;
- a recent, air-conditioned car serviced by our own workshop, delivered with a full tank;
- VAT (8.5% in Martinique);
- a local team available 7 days a week on +596 696 61 70 70.
Not included, and always shown before payment: the security deposit (credit-card pre-authorisation or Swikly) and the options you choose — partial or full excess waiver, baby seat or booster, additional driver, late cancellation —, the late-arrival fees at the airport (6:30 pm to 6:59 am), the surcharge for hand-over at the Port of Fort-de-France, the young-driver surcharge and the fuel you use.
Why the price changes with the season
Martinique has a real high season, from mid-December to mid-April: it is winter in Europe and North America, flights are full and cars go fast. Two peaks within it: the Christmas and New Year holidays and Carnival, in February. From May to mid-December, demand eases and prices with it: this is the cheapest time to rent, with a low from September to November. In between, the Easter holidays and the summer make a shoulder season.
Our prices adjust continuously to the real availability of each category. In practice: the earlier you book for the high season, the more choice you have and the gentler the price — and the price shown when you book is guaranteed, whatever happens to the grid afterwards. To plan a stay between December and April, see our high-season car rental page.
The daily price goes down with the duration
Rates step down by duration band: 1 to 3 days, 4 to 6 days, 7 to 14 days, 15 to 28 days, then 29 days and more. The table above matches the one-to-two-week band, the most common for a holiday. A weekend costs a little more per day; beyond a month, see long-term car rental, with a tailored quote.
Five ways to pay less
- Book early for the high season: the price is locked on the day you book, not on the day you leave.
- Choose the low season or the shoulder season when your dates are flexible: the difference runs to tens of euros a day on the larger categories.
- Rent for a week rather than three days: the 7-14-day band is noticeably gentler per day.
- Take the category you need, no more: a city car is plenty for two on the island, and parks anywhere.
- Book direct: you pay our grid price with no intermediary’s commission, and you have us on the phone if anything comes up.
Can you really rent a car in Martinique for €10 a day?
Off-season and for a week, yes, on the smallest categories: our headline price, shown at the top of the site, is recalculated every day from our real availability over the next eight weeks, and it is never lower than the actual price. In high season, no — not with anyone, honestly. When you see a very low price elsewhere, look at what is missing: limited mileage, a high excess, airport delivery fees, insurance or cleaning charged separately. With Spar’Car, the price in the table includes unlimited mileage and free airport hand-over.
