A wedding, a business meeting, a trip where comfort is not up for negotiation: our prestige range comes down to two Mercedes SUVs, both automatic. It is the smallest part of our fleet — and the part that goes earliest.

- Mercedes GLA — the more manageable of the two, 5 seats, automatic, petrol. It parks without drama in Fort-de-France and in the villages of the south.
- Mercedes GLC — larger and taller, also 5 seats, automatic, petrol. The boot takes the luggage of a party of four.
Both are air-conditioned and serviced by Garage LJC, our own workshop. If what you want is space rather than standing, look at the SUV page: a Sportage or a Captur costs appreciably less for comparable room.
What people use them for
Three cases come up again and again. An occasion — a wedding, a christening, a birthday — where the car is part of the day. A business trip, when you are collecting a client or a partner. And simply a holiday where you would rather spend your driving hours in a quiet, well-equipped car, especially if you are taking on the roads of the north.
In all three, the automatic gearbox matters as much as the badge: inland roads wind, and an automatic genuinely changes the experience. It is also the default for North American visitors — see automatic car rental.
What is included
Unlimited mileage, as on every rental of ours, and the vehicle's insurance with an excess in case of damage. Optional, shown as you book: excess reduction, an additional driver, a child seat. The deposit and excess page sets out what is covered and what is not.
The security deposit is taken as a pre-authorisation on a credit card in the main driver's name, or through the Swikly service, which holds no funds. Its amount depends on the vehicle category and is shown to you before you confirm anything.
Where to collect the car
At Aimé Césaire airport, free handover at any hour, seven days a week; or at our Le Lamentin branch, open every day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Handover at the Fort-de-France cruise port is possible for a surcharge. We do not deliver to homes or accommodation.
Book early, especially in season
The prestige range holds few cars: on the busiest dates — the end-of-year holidays, February — it is the first to run out. If your date is fixed, particularly for an occasion, book now: availability is shown live in the search.

Can I rent a prestige car for a wedding?
Yes, it is one of the most common reasons. Book as early as you can: the range holds few cars and a wedding date does not move.
Is mileage capped on this range?
No. Mileage is unlimited on all our rentals, prestige range included.
Is the deposit higher for a prestige car?
The security deposit depends on the vehicle category, so it is higher than on a small car. It is shown to you before you confirm, and is taken as a credit card pre-authorisation, or through Swikly, which holds no funds.
Is there a particular minimum age?
